Ján Sudimák, a breeder, dog trainer, international judge for conformation and performance, breed survey commissioner and long-time member of the Slovak Union of German Shepherd Dog Breeders' board, has written a book after 50 years of experience — a tribute to the German Shepherd as an extraordinary dog.

The author presents the history of the breed's origins in both, Germany and Slovakia. The book offers a detailed overview of 26 of the world’s most renowned bloodlines, clearly structured in the contents. These descriptions are accompanied by approximately 2,000 photographs of breeding dogs in show stance. Dogs are listed alphabetically and by pedigree, making it easy to find images of males or females you may own.

A highlight of the author's decades-long breeding journey is an extraordinary achievement: at the 2024 WUSV World Championship, out of 140 competing dogs, 60 carried bloodlines of the Eqidius kennel.

In the following chapters of the book the author shares his expertise on selecting breeding partners, the topic of inbreeding, determining the optimal day for mating, preparing for whelping, raising puppies, early puppy development, and training methodology for a dog's first-level working trial.

He also offers insight from personal experience on how to prepare for and judge shows, trials, and breed surveys, how to train a helper (decoy), how to raise a stud, and much more.

The conclusion of the book is devoted to the achievements of Slovak representatives in sports cynology, supported by the photographs.
